Soccer is the world’s most popular sport with 209 National Federations belonging to FIFA. Soccer knows no boundaries whether they be linguistic, geographical, or cultural. It is therefore only natural that teams should want to travel outside of their own environment to experience how the game is played in another country, and within a different culture.
Traveling together as a team is one of soccer’s greatest adventures. It gives the opportunity to share common experiences and create lifelong memories. Our friendly tours program has been created to allow young athletes the chance to experience this once in a lifetime opportunity.
Experience the Culture:
Europe is a soccer fanatic’s mecca. See some of the top professional team’s battle each other; tour stadiums with facilities you couldn’t even imagine in your dreams and shop in some of the largest team stores. Our friendly tours combine the excitement of visiting a foreign country with the opportunity to play international soccer. See Big Ben, taste the deliciousness of tapas and visit the Vatican City, while at the same time play some exciting soccer against teams that share your passion.
Flights and Transportation: All flights are arranged on scheduled routes with carefully selected airline partners. When you arrive at your destination airport, all ground transfers will be undertaken by high quality and experienced bus operators.
Tour Managers: The tour will be managed by a staff member of WorldStrides Excel Programs. Teams are met on arrival by a local tour coordinator who assists the group throughout your entire tour.
Don’t just take our word for it, here’s what some of our past participants had to say:
“My son had a fantastic time. Everything was extremely well organized and went as planned. Everyone loved their tour manager.”
–Meredith Jason, DC Stoddert, England
“The itinerary was well planned out with the correct amount of tours, free time and game time. The trip went very well with really good tour guides as well.”
–Steve Paul, Germany & Czech Republic VE Boys
“The trip to Barcelona was the experience of a lifetime for our boys’ soccer team – a perfect mix of sport and cultural activities. The training arranged was excellent with high caliber coaches from the Espanyol and Barcelona youth teams. The matches against local Spanish teams were challenging and a great learning experience. The skills and style of play learned on the trip remain a continual reference point. In between all the playing time, we had a chance to watch a top La Liga game, visit Camp Nou and also see the spectacular sites of Barcelona and the surrounding area. Our team’s focus was soccer, soccer, soccer and Excel obliged but I have no doubt that they would arrange an equally memorable trip for those who are looking for a different emphasis. Given the chance, we would all do it again!”
—Gloucester Impact Boys, Spain
“Do not miss the opportunity to go with your team to Stirling, Scotland. It is definitely a bucket list item that you can check off. The game experience and sightseeing opportunities were wonderful. We are so glad that we took advantage of this opportunity.”
–Dan Lodermeier WDM Force Scotland
